The vote on EU membership may be in the news lately - but for residents of Ide there's a more important referendum. Many people there are up in arms at the prospect of a park and ride site being built in the greenfield gap between their village and Exeter - and are planning to hold a yes/no ballot on the issue.
That could mean the village uniting against the plan for the 6 million pound facility designed to offer an alternative to driving into the city centre.
The opposers think building on the 'Ide Gap' will set a precedent for developing on the land between their village and Exeter, and lead to 'urban sprawl' blighting their surroundings.
