Works begin today on repairing a partially collapsed sewer on one of Exeter's main roads.
The pipe at the top end of Cowick Street needs urgent attention and South West Water contractors will be digging down 1.5 metres and replacing a four metre section between the First and Last junction and Wardrew Road.
It is partially collapsed and is in danger of blocking and flooding properties with sewage.
Four-way temporary traffic lights are controlling traffic at the junction of Cowick Street, Dunsford Road, Buddle Lane and Cowick Lane.
The work is expected to take two weeks to complete.
