Rogue paving and cleaning gang taken to court

Three rogue traders who targeted elderly people in Dawlish, Seaton and Newton Abbot have been found guilty of fraud charges.

Exeter Crown Court heard that their techniques included cold-calling, overcharging for work and pressuring their customers to pay large amounts of cash for shoddy, sub-standard work.

Some were forced to go to their banks or cashpoints to withdraw money.

Thomas Maughan and Thomas Mahon, both of Princes Paddock in Farringdon, pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to fraud - Matthew Latham of the same address admitted the offence.

They'll be sentenced in February.
