Villagers in Lympstone have quashed an attempt to redeploy their postman - only to find the postal workers' union up in arms over the matter.
They bombarded Royal Mail with letters protesting against its plan to move Ray Cope to Littleham in Exmouth.
Now the company has changed its mind and said Ray can continue his familiar delivery round - which he's been doing for 17 years.
However members of the Communication Workers Union in Exmouth aren't happy.
They're accusing Royal Mail of failing to keep its own rules and have been holding an emergency meeting this morning.
Royal Mail says it'll meet the union early next week to discuss the matter.
