The lurcher has been at the Little Valley Animal Shelter for more than 500 days.
He loves the beach and could live with older children but isn't used to being left on his own for long periods of time.
RSPCA Little Valley Animal Shelter’s manager, Jo Evans, said: “Hector is hilarious. He never fails to make us smile and is a firm favourite with all who meet him."
