Exeter Chiefs player and former club captain Tom Hayes has announced his retirement from the professional game - because of a troublesome back injury.
The 33 year old Irishman has played a hundred and 36 times for the Chiefs and was the catalyst of the side that won promotion tot th Premiership in 2010.
He says it's with great sadness that he's being forced to retire.
