Dawlish Warren could be getting a new golf course.
The 'tired looking' Tuck's Plot in Dawlish, will be brought back to life after planners approved a new 12-hole safari themed mini golf course.
Councillors believe the scheme will help attract more tourists to the area, as well as enhance the popular seafront spot.
Operator Robert Phipps said:
"We are investing a lot in regenerating the mini golf course, but to make it work as a profitable business, we need the kiosk, but it will increase footfall and trade in the town," he said.
Councillor Mike Pilkington added:
"I found the area to be extremely tired looking an in need of some kind of renovation. A lot of money will be invested in the area and all of the local business will benefit if this is upgraded."
Many other Councillors unanimously backed the decideion to approve the plans, including Councillor Vince Fusco, who said:
"The area does need a face lift and this project will benefit Dawlish as a whole. In will enhance the area and draw more people into the area. I am glad someone wants to invest money into this."
