Major improvements have been unveiled this week at a secure facility for young people in Exeter.
The Atkinson Unit has benefited from an extension with facilities for work and recreation, a new all weather sports pitch and general upgrades to the buildings.
The 700 thousand pound programme of work was funded by the Department of Education and the Northbrook Trust.
The unit has been praised by OFSTED, achieving six consecutive 'good' reports following inspections.
