Local man arrested.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious crash in North Devon last night (Wednesday 22nd May).
The collision involved a cyclist and a Ford Focus. The 37 year old rider from Yorkshire was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth with life changing arm and leg injuries.
A 69-year-old man from Ilfracombe has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, taking a vehicle without consent, driving whilst disqualified, and driving whilst unfit. He remains in police custody and awaits questioning.
The road was closed for 8 hours to allow an investigation to take place.
Officers would now like to hear from anyone who saw the bike, or the Ford Focus before the crash at 7.14pm.
