A police van was damaged in the protests
Several police officers have been injured and a police van was damaged as two rival protest groups faced off in Plymouth.
Fireworks, large stones, glass bottles and bricks were thrown on the Royal Parade, in the city on Monday night. The crowds were separted by 150 riot police officers from Devon and Cornwall Police.
The catalyst of the riots centrerd around crowds of anti-immigration protesters who attempted for several hours to confront a Stand Up To Racism counter-rally.
Ever since the Southport knife attack, in which three young girls were killed, groups linked to the far right have taken to towns and cities across the UK.
On Monday evening in Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall Police made six arrests. This takes the total number of arrests to nearly 400 because of the riots.
A number of members of the public were also injured, with two sent to hospital.
