A student's been jailed for sparking an armed police lockdown at Exeter University earlier this year.
Yihe Xiong, a postgraduate student from China, took a fake gun on to the Streatham campus in June.
The incident led to part of the campus being evacuated, as fear spread among students.
At Exeter Crown Court today, the 25-year-old was sentenced to eight months in prison for possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
Judge Peter Johnson said it was a "calculated act of breathtaking stupidity."
