There are calls for the south-west's main railway line to be electrified from Bristol to Penzance.
The Peninsula Rail Task Force says this would speed up journey times to and from London and bring about a significant boost to the region's economy.
The task force has produced a report on recommended rail improvements, at the request of the Government and Network Rail.
