It happened on Alphington Road on Saturday night
A 19 year old woman has died after being hit by a car in Alphington Road in Exeter on Saturday night (15th December).
Emergency services were called at around 9.20pm to the area near the Railway bridge.
The pedestrian suffered life threatening injuries and was taken to RD&E, but later transferred to Derriford hospital in Plymouth, where she died yesterday (19th December)
The driver of the car fled the scene, but was found by sniffer dogs.
A 26-year-old man from Exeter was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs, driving a motor vehicle dangerously and being the driver of a vehicle which failed to stop after a road accident.
He has since been released on police bail until 13 January 2019.
