28 year old local man arrested.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious crash last night (Tuesday 10th September).
Officers were called to the Clyst Honiton Bypass (B3184), near the airport at 8.30pm.
It's believed a 16 year old boy was hit by a car - which then drove off, but was later located.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics, before being transferred to the RD&E. Police describe his injuries as "serious".
A 28-year-old man, from Exeter, has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, disqualified driving, driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs and failing to stop. He remains in police custody.
The road remained closed until 1am this morning for a full forensic examination and officers have thanked people for their patience.
