Police say two people in Honiton and Crediton are among the latest victims of telephone fraudsters.
A total of 138 thousand pounds has been stolen in three incidents, the third in Cornwall.
The fraudsters phone people and con them into withdrawing large sums of money from their bank and handing it over - or divulging their card details or PIN numbers.
Police are asking banks to help prevent the frauds by being on the alert for any customers making large cash withdrawals, and passing on the information to them if it seems suspicious.
