Everyone accounted for
Fire crews worked through the night following the outbreak of a fire in Woodbury Salterton.
Emergency services were called at around 12.35 a..m to reports of a thatched roof on fire in a domestic property in the village south east of Exeter.
Eight fire engines and several specialist vehicles were sent initially, then a further four fire engines when the first crews assessed the extent of the blaze.
The roof collapsed just after 4 a.m.
The fire service has confirmed that everyone is accounted for. At 6 a.n. the incident was scaled back to fire fire engines.
The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed.
