Help Plymouth's next stars
Plymouth's Theatre Royal has launched a crowdfunding campaign to support local talent.
The Artist Development programme aims to support future performers, writers, directors, and designers, and the money raised will go towards that goal.
The Theatre Royal is a registered charity committed to creating artistic and educational productions and programs that open art to the local community.
All proceeds will go towards helping local artists establish careers in the industry, build connections, and begin their creative journeys.
You can donate a variety of amounts, starting from £5, and as an incentive, there's a chance to win a money-can't-buy prize: an incredible theatre experience and meet Sir Matthew Bourne and Dame Darcey Bussell.
The lucky runner-up will also win tickets to one of Matthew Bourne’s shows.
Lisa Howe, the Theatre's Director of Partnerships said, "The programme provides a vibrant community hub connecting artists and makers across Plymouth and the wider South West, helping these emerging artists to develop their practices and reach their potential goal.
Part of how we help is providing resources and space and organising collaborative events. All of these require funding and for that we rely on the community. The crowdfunder is a great way to raise crucial income for such community outreach projects.”
The crowdfunder closes on Thursday, July 10th.
