The trial begins today of an Exeter police sergeant and two civilian staff, accused of the manslaughter of a local man who died after being held in custody.
Thomas Orchard, who had a history of mental health problems, was arrested in the city centre in October 2012 and collapsed in a police cell - he died in hospital a week later.
Custody sergeant 44 year old Jan Kingshott denies manslaughter along with civilian staff 38 year old Simon Tansley and 55 year old Michael Marsden.
The trial is taking place at Bristol crown court.
