The post-hospital care given to stroke patients has earned the NHS Trust running community services in mid and east Devon a national award.
The stroke therapy team were praised for their home visits, which enable people to leave hospital earlier, and a patient and carer support group which has been shown to speed up recovery.
They won the Improvement in Community Health category in the Value in Healthcare awards.
