Topsham flood defence work underway

Government funds help to plug leaks from the Clyst

Work begins today to repair a storm-damaged flood defence wall in Topsham.

A large section of the coastal defence structure alongside the River Clyst, at Bowling Green Marsh, needs to be restored after a breach allowed high tides to overflow into the land and road behind it.

The city council owns the land - and the Government's put up the money

It will take about a month to complete
