Mystery of missing man 'held at knifepoint'
Police have renewed an appeal to track down a man who claimed he had been robbed at knifepoint in Topsham just before Christmas.
A witness told police they had been approached by an unknown man who said that he had been attacked after arranging to meet a stranger to buy a computer which had been advertised on Facebook Marketplace.
The incident took place between 10.20pm and 10.40pm on Wednesday 20 December on Majorfield Road in Topsham. The victim fled the scene and spoke to a passerby.
Detective Inspector Guy Biggar said: “We are seeking to identify the alleged victim of this incident. It is believed that he may have travelled from outside of the Devon area to meet this person.
“Anyone who has information which can help us identify this person is asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police via 101 or by visiting our website quoting 50240011968.”
