A bulb in their vivarium caught fire and spread to sawdust
Fire crews in Exeter have confirmed 2 tortoises were unharmed after their vivarium caught fire last night.
They were called to reports of a burning smell in a property on King Street.
Crews used a ladder to gain entry through an open window on the second floor.
They found a small fire involving a lightbulb and sawdust in a vivarium housing the two tortoises.
A saucepan of water was used to put the fire out.
