It happened near Buckfastleigh this morning
A 50-year-old man from Totnes has died after a tree fell on his Alfa Romeo this morning. Police say he sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. His next of kin have been told.
A woman in her 20s had to be cut out of a second car and has been taken to Derriford Hospital with minor injuries.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the A384 at around 5.30am.
The road has been closed both ways at the A38 Drumbridges junction through to Dartington roundabout, and Police say it will be closed for some time for recovery and an investigation.
