A purpose-built travellers' site on Haldon Hill opens today - thought to be the first of its kind in Britain.
The one million pound facility will be managed by Teign Housing and has power supplies, showers, toilets and recycling facilities.
It will replace the unauthorised camp nearby which has been illegally occupied for more than 10 years - and will now be cleared and returned to woodland.
Ten of the 15 pitches on the new site have been allocated.
