Road conditions good in early morning collision
A man has died after two vans collided on a South Devon road on Saturday morning.
Police were notified just after 7.15 a.m. to a head-on collision on the A384 near Buckfastleigh and Dartington. Road and weather conditions at the time were dry.
The driver of one vehicle died at the scene. It is understood that his next of kin have been informed and that there is some uncertainty about whether the man died as a result of the collision or shortly before it. The other driver has minor injuries.
Police need witnesses to call them on 101 (calls cost 15 pence) quoting log 228 of 1 September.
Saturday's collision follows several fatalities on Devon's roads in the past two weeks, including a crash last weekend in which two Jaguars collided near Chudleigh, in which three people died, and the death of a young motorcyclist following a collision with a pedestrian in Topsham Road ahead of the bank holiday weekend.
