VIDEO: Lockdown lift coincides with dry weather
With lockdown easing and the dry weather, the risk of fire on moorland is increasing. Much of the remainder of April is expected to be dry, and the traditional April showers have been sparse during the early part of the month.
People are now beginning to camp again at beauty spots like Dartmoor, and that brings added risks too.
Dartmoor park ranger Robert Steemson says he's concerned about people lighting fires illegally, but also people accidentally knocking over camping stoves.
He says: "We're upping the rules and regulations; making people more aware of them, and appealing to people to look after the place.
