Cashpoint users in Exeter are being urged to be on the alert after 'suspicious devices' were recovered from ATMs in the city centre on Saturday.
The devices were hidden inside the dispensers to physically stop the money from coming out.
Members of the public noticed the abnormality and called police.
Officers are also warning that fake 20 and 50 pound notes have been seen in Exeter - with fraudsters typically paying for low-cost items with them to get large amounts of change.
