It happened a week ago
Police are appealing for witnesses after a car hit a hedge just before midnight last Wednesday (6th March).
Emergency services were called after the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V left the road between Spitchwick Common and Ashburton.
The family of three from Newton Abbot, is believed to have been travelling towards Ashburton.
The back seat passenger, a woman in her 40s, sustained a serious head injury and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance, but has since died as a result of her injuries.
Two men in the vehicle, one aged 20 and the other in his 40s, suffered minor injuries.
The road was closed for five-and-a-half hours for recovery work and a police investigation.
