Blaze at house in Rydon Lane
A woman was treated for smoke inhalation following a fire at a house in Exeter in the early hours of Saturday.
Emergency services were called to Rydon Lane around 4.25am following a report of smoke coming from an air vent of a semi-detached house.
Fire crews from Middlemoor and the central Exeter station Danes Castle found the fire in the ground floor bathroom. The electricity and gas board were asked to isolate the utilities and the fire was quickly put out.
The fire started in an electrical cupboard under the stairs and is being put down as an accident. There was 90 per cent fire damage to the cupboard and 100 per cent smoke damage to the cupboard, bathroom and hallway.
