Work's begun to create a permanent travellers' site at Haldon, to replace the illegal encampment that's been there for 12 years.
Fifteen pitches are being set up next to the existing camp, along with showers, toilets, power, and waste disposal and recycling facilities.
People moving on to the new site will have to lease a pitch and pay rent and council tax.
The current site will be returned to its natural woodland state.
