Fewer pupils are being expelled permanently from schools in Devon. The number is down significantly on the last academic year, thanks to various measures.
The county council says it's worked hard to prevent pupils being expelled permanently - and that seems to be paying off.
In the 2012 to 13 academic year 98 were expelled - as this academic year draws to a close the number of expulsions stands at 44.
Some troublesome pupils have been transferred to other schools to make a fresh start, rather than being excluded - and that's worked in a third of cases.
Tailored support from educational psychologists and welfare officers has also helped some pupils get back on track.
