Figures released today show that three people were killed in workplace accidents in Exeter, mid and east Devon in the year 2012 to 2013 - and a hundred and 39 suffered major injuries.
The statistics have been published by the Health and Safety Executive.
The number of people injured has increased in the Exeter and mid Devon areas compared with the previous year - but fallen in East Devon.
Nationally the highest risk industries are construction, agriculture, manufacturing and waste and recycling - which accounted for two thirds of the workplace deaths during 2012 to 13.
