HMS Albion and Bulwark retiring
Two Devonport-based warships could be sold to Brazil.
The Ministry of Defence says offloading HMS Albion and Bulwark is part of its efforts to cut costs.
The two landing platform docks - designed to deploy Royal Marines on shore - are also said to be a vital capability at a time of growing global threats.
But experts claim the move underlines the pressure on the defence budget.
Both ships were due to be retired last month.
