The water quality rating is run by Keep Britain Tidy.
12 beaches on the South coast and 2 on the North coast of Devon have been given a Blue Flag Award.
Keep Britain Tidy says Blue Flag is an international award presented to well managed beaches with excellent water quality and environmental education programmes.
Here are the beaches in Devon:
- Sandy Bay
- Exmouth Town
- Dawlish Warren
- Teignmouth
- Blackpool Sands (near Dartmouth)
- Challaborough (near Kingsbridge)
- Breakwater
- Broadsands
- Meadfoot
- Oddicombe
- Preston
- Torrey Abbey
- Croyde
- Westward Ho!
Many more have been given a Seaside Award, presented to the best beaches.
