A 30 year old man has appeared in court today charged with murdering his mother in Exmouth.
Andrew Cane was arrested in Gloucester over the weekend.
The body of 63-year old Linda Sheard was found in the Brixington area of Exmouth last Wednesday.
Cane will appear before Exeter magistrates again at the end of the month for a preliminary hearing.
Meanwhile a forensic post mortem has proved inconclusive and further tests are being carried out.
