Nazis hit town between 1941 and 1943
It's being reported that round five thousand people in Exmouth have been displaced after a second world war bomb was dredged up in the marina yesterday.
The town was hit on several occasions by the Nazis, most notably between 1941 and 1943 when more than 20 people were killed.
Now it's been discovered that one device didn't go off - and disposal teams are now on site working out how to handle it.
Nearly two miles of the Exmouth seafront remain completely closed to traffic between the Marina and Orcombe Point.
Throughout Wednesday afternoon and evening and then again on Thursday olice cordons blocked every entrance.
Some local residents around the marina spent the night in temporary accommodation.
It's understood there's no timescale for removing or detonating the device, which was uncovered yesterday afternoon.
