The Woodland Trust spent the money clearing the "killer shrub" from woodland in Kentisbeare.
The conservation charity says nationally they spent £330,000 last year removing invasive plants like rhododendron from woodlands. They are fast spreading species which suffocate native trees and flowers and pose a threat to wildlife.
