Devon and Cornwall police are carrying out an awareness campaign on abuse ... encouraging people to report it.
They're reminding people that it can take many forms ... and are providing advice and support on Facebook and Twitter.
Last year there were nearly 30,000 reported crimes and incidents of abuse in the two counties, but police think the true number may be much higher.
