Chris Skelton appointed CEO
The Devon County Agricultural Association is pleased to announce that Chris Skelton will join as Association Secretary/Chief Executive on Monday 31st January.
Previous chief executive Richard Maunder retires from the role after 10 years in post and the Association thank him for his diligent and professional service throughout that period, noting that the Association is in good health despite Covid and well set for prosperous years ahead.
Chairperson Mary Quicke commented ‘We were fortunate to have an excellent field of candidates, but Chris’s commercial and business experience, as well as his Devon farming connections, made him the standout candidate’.
Chris Skelton has spent the last 13 years working in the manufacturing sector, where his commercial and operational success has seen him quickly promoted through the ranks. He is proud of his farming family connections in south devon and has fond memories of working on his father’s machinery dealership stand at the County Show.
Chris commented ‘I am delighted to be given this opportunity and look forward to using my experience and skills to support the Association to grow and invest to meet its charitable objectives through holding successful County Shows and maximising the facilities year round at Westpoint’.
