A man has been jailed for robbing a Honiton antiques shop after overpowering the terrified assistant.
46 year old Edward O'Hare of no fixed abode stole 400 thousand pounds worth of jewellery from Banwell Antiques in March last year.
Exeter crown court heard how he travelled from London to Honiton and waited outside the shop until assistant Sarah Richards arrived to open up - he tied her up and used the safe keys to get the valuables.
He fled to Belgium but was traced and arrested there.
In court he pleaded guilty to robbery and has been jailed for six years.
