Police investigating an assault on a man with learning disabilities and his carer in Tiverton are trying to trace a woman who came to their aid afterwards.
The attack happened last Wednesday afternoon in the People's Park.
Two vulnerable men and their male carer were subjected to offensive comments by a group of teenagers - and the incident escalated into a physical attack.
A 51 year old man with learning disabilities suffered a cut to his cheek and lip, and the carer had bruised ribs and swelling to the face and head.
Shortly afterwards a woman who said she was from Wellington came to speak to the men - however she left before police arrived and officers say she will have information vital to the investigation. They'd also like to hear from any other witnesses.
