It follows a fire at former council offices
Police have launched an investigation following a suspected arson in Sidmouth.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called to the former headquarters of East Devon District Council at around 4.10am on Thursday 30 March, although the fire is believed to have started at around 2.30am.
The building was extensively damaged during the incident.
Police had a previous report of a small fire at the same location on Sunday 26 March which was extinguished by the fire service with little damage caused.
On 26 March, a witness reported seeing a man at the scene, who was described as white, in his early 20s, or medium build with dark hair and wearing camouflage trousers.
Officers are now investigating both incidents and believe they could be linked and are appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area to get in touch.
