Formal identification has yet to take place
Police searching for missing elderly woman Jean Disney since Monday [17 February] have recovered a body from a river in Thorverton, near Tiverton.
Officers received reports at around 1.30pm today of a female body in the water near Thorverton Weir. The discovery was made by a dog-walker.
Formal identification has yet to take place. The family of 87-year-old Jean Disney from Tiverton have been made aware.
At this time, the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Police say they would like to thank the Tiverton community and surrounding areas and Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service and all specialist agencies involved in the search.
