A meeting's taking place today to discuss how to prevent Budleigh Salterton beach from failing tough new water quality standards, which come into force next year.
East Devon district council, the Environment Agency, local businesses and other interested organisations will be discussing possible causes of pollution.
They include poor plumbing and waste disposal by homes and businesses, river pollution, and run-off from fields.
