Devon and Cornwall Police and partner agencies have joined forces to launch a campaign against domestic violence during the Euro 2012 football tournament.
Research has shown that a rise in domestic violence and domestic abuse incidents during major football competitions is likely to happen – particularly following England games.
More officers will be made available during and following England matches to deal with domestic abuse.
During the last major football competition, the World Cup in 2010, local Police saw a 30% increase in reports of domestic abuse crimes during England match days.
