Around six thousand chickens have been killed in a fire near Aylesbeare.
The large barn they were in, at a farm in Perkins Village, went up in flames yesterday morning.
Six fire engines attended, along with a water foam carried from Exeter and the incident command unit....
firefighters had to move other livestock to safety as well as tackle the blaze in the 50 by 20 metre building.
The barn was completely destroyed in the fire, which is not being treated as suspicious.
