Exeter's unemployment rate has fallen to its lowest for several years.
The latest figures for last month show 945 people were claiming jobseekers' allowance - compared to more than 15 hundred a year ago.
All the districts of Devon also saw a fall in the number of claimants.
Nationally the number claiming the benefit has fallen below one million for the first time in six years.
