Exeter's Chris Martin announced the news
Exeter's Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay, says the band will stop recording music as a group in 2025.
The singer, who was born and raised in Devon, made the announcement during a recent interview on BBC Radio 2. Speaking on the Zoe Ball breakfast show, he said: “Well I know I can tell you: our last proper record will come out in 2025 and after that I think we will only tour.
“Maybe we’ll do some collaborative things but the Coldplay catalogue, as it were, finishes then.”
Martin, who performed at Exeter's Powderham Castle in 2016, also admitted that there's still quite a long way to go when it comes to finding a completely eco-friendly way to tour.
