Tiverton, Dawlish and Axminster are among the places set to benefit from a programme of small-scale flood alleviation work, announced by the county council.
New sluice gates are to be installed at Dawlish Water... and new debris grilles at Purze Brook in Axminster.
Meanwhile there'll be detailed investigations of the flood risk in three parts of Tiverton - Arnold Crescent, Newts Hill and Prior Road.
The projects have been identified as a direct result of the joint local authority investigation into the flooding during the summer, and feedback received during community drop-in events.
