Railway arches in Exeter's St Thomas area - which have become regular haunts of drug takers and rough sleepers - are to be boarded up.
The city council says funding has been found to block access to the arches - following complaints from local residents about intimidating behaviour, and rubbish and drug paraphernalia being dumped there.
The council is emphasising that a lot of work's being done to try and help the rough sleepers move into housing.
